CARIFTA Games 2013 Update

The Dominica Amateur Athletics Association (DAAA) preparation towards the LIME CARIFTA Games 2013 in the Bahamas from March 28 to April 2, 2013 is well on the way. To date the DAAA has 7 qualified athletes 6 of whom who are based at home and one overseas, Thea Lafond, after the completion of 3 local track and field competitions. The deadline for qualifying is the March 10, 2013 and on this date the DAAA will be hosting its National Junior Championship in Grand Bay. The DAAA expects more athletes names will be added to team Dominica for the CARIFTA Games 2013. The names of the qualifiers are:

1. Luan Gabriel (Aspires Athletics Club/ITSS) 200m U20 Girls
2. Donny Joseph (Aspires Athletics Club/PSS) Heptathlon U20 Boys
3. Shanee Angol (Aithons Athletics Club/PCSS) Javelin U17 Girls
4. Judah Corriette (Aithons  Athletics Club/PCSS) 800m, 1500m U17 Boys
5. Kellandie Bully (Pioneers Athletics Club/ITSS) 800m U17 Girls
6. Chelsey Linton (Wesmar Rangers Athletics Club) Pentathlon U20 Girls
7. Thea Lafond (University of Maryland) High Jump, Triple Jump U20 Girls
